As a Nigerian single mother navigating the UK childcare system, I faced a challenge many African families know well: finding childcare that reflected my culture, language, and parenting philosophy.
I spent weeks scrolling through generic platforms with no way to filter by language, culture, or shared values. I interviewed dozens of childminders — many wonderful — but none who shared my background or understood the nuances of raising a child in the African diaspora.
